Ok, here’s the issue. My 2000 Oldsmobile intrigue will start on occasions. But there are many times where you shut off the car and when you attempt to start it again, well.. nothing. I get my dash lights, bells and whistles, I replaced the battery which didn’t fix the problem. Yes there is oil, all the fluids are topped off. Plus another thing that went on even when we bought the car new, there would be voltage drops, every so often. The headlights, and dash lights would dim, although it didn’t concern me ever cause as far as I know it didn’t wreck the car. But anyway, last night when I took the car to the gas station to get some pop, I went to start the car and nothing! It took me 5 min of turning the key before it finally kicked on! If anyone has any ideas it would really be appreciated!

Are there any Check engine lights on?
I had one of these and it did the same thing it was the crank sensor. But I had a check engine light for it.

Does it have a security KEY? A little contact on the key blade? If it does, might need to clean the key and ignition with electrical contact cleaner (Radio Shack).

Ya next time you go out just stop by auto zone or any auto store and they will pull the codes for free. Let us know what the code is and we can help you.

I got P0100 its telling me there is a problem with the mass air flow sensor. Although after I fixed that it didn’t fix my starting problem.

Did you have the battery load tested?

Did you do a voltage drop test on the starter circuit?
