A series of events happened and ik this is a lot to read but I’m just trying to give any and all information that might be helpful. Thank you to anyone taking their time to help, I appreciate it.

I was in a rush but I usually don’t do this, I drove with the handbrake on but it was only for a block or 2. (This I assume caused the overheating which possibly caused the other events, though I hope they are not in direct correlation with each other.) After I put the handbrake down I was just mad at myself for being a dumb ass and just took note that the car was over heating. The needle was a little less than 3/4 to being fully hot. Around 3 blocks later when I was coming out of a stop, it did this weird pop out of 1st gear thing. I just thought I didn’t put it in all the way, because it did actually start and everything seemed normal and it popped out after a couple feet, after the clutch was about fully engaged it seemed. It got worse later though. At the next stop sign it was doing a mix of popping out of first and something that reminded me of being on the verge of stalling or running out of gas. I ended up having to put it in first Twice before I actually got the car to engage normally. This all happened in crossing the street. ( Thankfully I’m on small side roads) After I cross I immediately pull over, the temp is still in the same place. I turned the car off. Tried to turn the car on and it turned but didn’t come on, and it made this deep loud electrical sounding noise. I let the car cool for about a minute and it started and I made a U-turn and parked around 50ft from where I was. I sat there for a bit and let it cool. I kept trying to start it and after like 3 tries it would turn on but did something. It would be at normal revs then it would slowly drop until it ‘stalled’, (I was in Neural but it just turned off) this happened twice. When the car would start after like 5 tries, I tried giving alittle gas. I tried this twice, and both times I barley touched the petal and the car would ‘stall’ again. Then the car turned on in like 2 tries and somehow I was able to bring the car up to 4500 revs and I just held it there for around 10 seconds. After I got off the gas, the revs dropped normally then it ‘stalled’ again. I probably should have left the car alone by this time but I was frustrated. When I tried to turn on the car again it made that deep loud electrical sounding noise from before. I gave up after that. Its been a couple days and I check about every 2 or 3 days and it still wont turn on.

Every time it died it was like a weak stall or the car just didn’t have gas. I’m hoping it has nothing to do with the transmission or clutch. The simplest things I can think of checking so far are spark plugs, distributor, or alternator, just because the car won’t ignite. It cranks though. Any tips of what to check or how to check certain things are greatly appreciated.

Well that is just a mess of seemingly unrelated problems, I don’t know where to begin. It started pooping out of first gear after driving with the e brake up? I cant imagine driving with the e brake up would cause any damage at all if it was only for a block or two, I highly doubt that would even cause an overheat. It never overheated before that? Popping out of first gear is hopefully being caused by low or bad tranny fluid, though that would not explain why it started right after driving with the e brake up. Other possibilities are a bad first gear synchro, if this was the case it would likely grind going into first. If you replace the tranny fluid use Honda MTF only, I have heard synchromesh fluid works good as well but my recommendation is Honda MTF, you can get it on amazon.

Any signs of the clutch slipping? If you did manage to damage something driving with the E brake up I would think it would be the clutch.

As for the no start and electrical noise, the noise is really throwing me off. I have killed many a honda distributor but I have never heard the noise you describe. I would pull the dizzy cap off, check if the rotor fell off, they are known to do that, if it did just put it back on or get a new rotor (very cheap) if its rounded off and it should start. If the inside of the dizzy is caked in red or white dust it is likely dead and needs to be replaced (not so cheap don’t buy an ebay dizzy). Ignition issue’s are by far the most common cause of a no start on an integra.

Other causes of the no start that might fit your description is the fuel pump, however it is not common for integra fuel pumps of that vintage to go bad. I had a 92 integra with 250,000miles on the factory fuel pump.

Thank you so much for replying, I really appreciate it because I at least have a plan of attack now.

You asked if it ever overheated before, and the only time it does is when it idols for a while. I noticed that when I went to get smog checked. Though that might just be because no airflow and my coolant is close to low. I intend on filling that back up.

I pulled the distributor cap off and everything seemed fine. There was no dust as you mentioned and I made sure all the spark plugs were in all the way. The rotor was still there as well, and all the electrical seemed to be in-tack. I have some photos if you want to look at it.

I wasn’t able to check the fuel pump yet, any suggestions on how to check if it’s still working? Or do I just have to take it off and open it up? I did notice though that when I tried to start the car, after a few attempts it would smell like gas. (it would crank crank crank crank half-fire crank crank, if that makes sense, but would never catch) I assumed it was just because I was flooding the engine, but could there be a gas smell from the pump not working?
