2000 Hyundai Sonota

it runs great, that is until i go to put gas in it then it has a bit of trouble starting have to crank it at times for close to a minute. after it fires up need to step on the gas and rev it up a little but once we get it in gear she runs like a champ,dont mind it not being a morning person, just wish it only happened less. any body have an answer to my little riddle??
