the abs light on and traction control light on. the abs should not cause rpm bouncing. my concern is traction control. this function tells the rear wheels
or rear end what to do.we need to figure out why the light is on.the traction control may be affecting the rpm’s it sounds like its trying to control the wheels
all the time. I know that you think things aren’t relevant at this time but in order to help you better we need all the pieces to solve the puzzle. try to pull the
codes so we can go from there..good luck and keep us postedFebruary 1, 2012 at 11:00 am #437475Quoted From college man:

That said if the ABS light comes on the TCS light also comes on since the systems are tied together.
Once again watching your video I’m thinking you have a transmission issue. Given the speed you were going I would guess that the TCC clutch inside the torque converter is slipping causing the RPM fluctuation, you can easily verify this by turning off the OD or just putting it in 3rd gear and driving at the same speed to see if the problem still exists if it doesn’t, the TCC is bad or the seals that supply pressurized fluid to it are either way the trans has to come out to repair it.
BTW it’s not likely to have anything to do with the ignition system or any other sensors as you don’t seem to have a CEL and you engine appears to be running fine otherwise, if there were a problem with the ignition system then I would think you would have an issue all the time.
February 2, 2012 at 11:00 am #437476I posted wrong on the traction control (sorry) I was thinking limited slip differential. I googled how traction control works.it has everything to do
with abs. if your light is on that maybe the issue with the traction control and the rpm bounceFebruary 2, 2012 at 11:00 am #437477Quoted From college man:

Traction control is only active when the computer detects the wheels are slipping, there not slipping doing over 40mph. And my brakes arent locking up while I am cruising, so ABS isnt active either.
February 2, 2012 at 11:00 am #437478So update on the problem, I put my car in 2nd gear, was travelling about 50km/hr (about 30MPH) and I had the same problem. I dont know what this could mean? any ideas. I dont think the car would try to lock up the TCC in 2nd would it?
February 5, 2012 at 11:00 am #437479Everything you describe sounds like a transmission issue therefore I would begin my search there for the problem and either confirm or eliminate that as the cause first before pursuing other possibilities.
