Not exactly clear on the issue but here are some videos that may help you if you are not able to start the vehicle.

well that might be the gauge in the dash. alot of people confuse the sending unit problems for gauge cluster problems.but im stil not clear it cranks but doesnt start if thats the case. check fuel pressure theirs a sharder valve on the fuel line dont have fuel pressure check for power,get a noid light kit from a part store check injectors to see if theyve got power (no flashing check for power). check for spark at plug wires no spark check for power thats my best sugestion. i have an 03 windstar so i can help you a little bit better as far as locations and stuff
It starts, It cranks. But the fuel gauge and the ‘Miles till E’ on the message board stay the same. :huh:

Okay, for the fuel gauge and ‘Miles till E’, I’d suspect and check the fuel level sender unit and circuit. Start with a visual of the wiring, then test the circuit. A decent repair manual (FSM preferred) should have this procedure.
So the vehicle starts and runs you’re just having issues with the fuel gauge? If that’s the case then I would start my search at the sending unit as suggested. It could also be an issue with wiring or in the gauge cluster. To be honest you would need a wiring diagram, the ability to read it, and a DVOM to check the circuit.

i have a quick and easy way to rule out a gauge problem thats common on the windstars. with doors closed and keys in ignition but not on run hold to tripometer peg for a second then while still holding the peg turn the key to run.go to gauge sweep. if the fuel gauge goes up and down you know your gauge is working. but if not the i would take Erics suggestion. wiring diagram and a digital volt ohm meter.
Ya about this car its clutch disk things 1 overheated when we were coming back from Atlanta to Northeast Tennessee and its likely in a cube now in the junkyard 😆 :woohoo: So I’m marking this as closed. BUT our new car has a problem im about to post. 🙁
