My grandfather has a 2000 Ford Ranger which started spewing radiator fluid out of the passenger side radiator a few months ago. He tried to JB Weld the hole but it still leaks. Now his vehicle is overheating, and the radiator is filled with a thick brown spongy substance

is the oil milky or the trans fluid? I would suggest a block test. also before the new radiator install.
I would do a system flush. also change the thermostat. then install the new radiator.

It might be stop leak but here is the ‘Overheat’ video that I did that covers how to check for a head gasket problem.

We got the Radiator on last week along with thermostat, so far it seems to be holding up. I’ll update when he changes the oil again. we’ll see if its good or not.
