          The engine light has been on for i dont even know how long and the car is good on mileage._x000D_

          I regularly change the oil and filter every 3000 miles. Recently changed the air filter._x000D_

                  yeah, i finally went there and got the codes._x000D_
                  _x000D_
                  P0171 – system too lean._x000D_
                  _x000D_
                  P1381 – Camshaft position._x000D_
                  _x000D_
                  and i have one more question, on my car’s hood it says use 5W30 engine oil but my cousin says your car is old so put 10W40. I am very confused about

                      Stick with 5W30 oil. P1381 is camshaft position timing over advanced

                        Has it had a timing belt put on it recently? Sounds like maybe the timing is off a little bit, maybe the timing jumped a little

                              First change back to 5w30 oil

                                It would be interesting to see the the lean code is there from an idle standpoint or when the engine is under a load._x000D_

                                  That code may be an important clue as to what the problem is, I’d say getting that code would be step one.
