        Welcome to the forums!

Are your vents vacuum controlled or electronically controlled?

A HVAC diagram would help here.

I’m guessing based on work with a couple similar era Trailblazers in my service ops class that it’s electronically controlled. You may have a failed actuator, but they usually default the to defrost position. It may be as simple as some crap stuck in the mode door not allowing it to move. Good luck.

Edit: Now that I think about it, I had a 2000 S-10 company truck. It didn’t have the auto-climate control. You might want to pull the dash panels and see if the connection is broken at the control head (which would be lucky for you). It’s not alot of work to get to the back side of this panel based on my memory, as you would need to pop off the cover around the radio/control head, and then should just be a few bolts to pull the control unit. No guaranties on my memory though.

I believe it’s electronically controlled. You might try smacking the dash in different places while the HVAC is on, this may wake the actuator up and it might start working if not you may need to replace it. I’d also suggest checking the control unit as suggested above as that would be the easiest part to replace I believe.
