So I was doing some cleaning on my IAC valve on my 2000 Acura TL, and in doing so I removed the assembly that the throttle cables connect to. Well This assemble has quite a few parts, and I am now shitting myself because I haven’t the slightest clue on how to put this thing back together. I’ve included a picture for reference.

I’ve consulted my repair manual and there’s no detailed info on this part. I’m gonna need some help…

I did some searching on eBay for the throttle body for sale for your car, then I downloaded pics of it to this thread. I also found some basic drawings of it in the repair files from my libraries website. I will include more of them on the next reply. I hope these visual reminders will give you something to work with.

One of those pictures does help me a little bit. The main problem is trying to figure out what order those small parts and springs go back in. I’ve got the throttle body off again and i’m working on it at my desk as we speak. Here’s a configuration I’ve messed with to no avail.

This falls under the category of closing the barn door after the horses got out but …
In the future, try either taking a video or pictures while your disassembling.

Outlook for more throttle body assemblies and cable assemblies for sale, then download the pics. Also, go to a junk yard and take video and pics of one, maybe even buy another. Ice done why you did before on a Bonneville, i got lucky and it all went back together, but I have no interest in tearing a spring assembly apart again. It reminds me of trying to fix a camera when I was 9. Springs flew out everywhere.

Well I finally fixed my problem. I luckily found another 2000 TL at the local pick a part, and disassembled on-site with video. Here’s a link to the video if anyone’s interested in learning how to take this thing apart as well.
