      hey fellaz

Ive got a 2000 Accord EX V6 3.0L. Car has 220k miles. Runs great and rides well. About a month ago I changed the front rotors and pads. Ever since I did that there was just a little brake rub noise on the front driver side , which was fine by me. Brakes worked great. Then about 2 weeks later it started squealing a little bit more. And when i apply the brakes about half way at about 35mph and below they started making a reert reert reert noise. Almost like 2 pieces of metal rubbing kinda… So i thought maybe is was the pads retaining clips. so i took them out. the metal rubbing sound (reert) went away about 85% of the time. But now the squeaking noise is worse, like at the same speed as the tire is rotating. all the time with out using the brakes. if i gently apply the brakes it will go away. now yesterday the car has a good shake at 65+mph.

i jacked up the car and checked for any wooble in tire to see if maybe the hub or bearings were bad. the Tires is tight. absolutely no wobble in all 4 tires.

Any ideas on whats going on? before i noticed the shake yesterday on the highway i thought maybe i needed to replace the caliper. but now im worried theres more to it.

      Thx

Have you check the ball joints and steering rack could need an ailment or you could have very loose ball joints

Is the vehicle steering any specific direction while your pushing on brakes at any speed does it swirve on you even while holding the wheel while braking if your answer yo this is yes you have a failing brake caliper now depending on which direction it swerves depends on which caliper is failing

I have not check my ball joints yet. And to the 2nd response the car is not pulling one way or the other when applying the brakes it stays straight. And the problems I’m having with brake noise and squealing happens all the time no matter which way the tires are pointed . Also the alignment is fine it doesn’t pull left or right normally either.

Seeing as how you didn’t seem to have this problem until after you did the brake job I would double check all your brake hardware to make sure the nothing is touching the rotor making that noise. Also if you bent the backing plate for some reason that can make noise if its contacting the rotor. The other suggestion would be to lube the brake hardware with a light coat of brake grease.

Since it most swerving while braking your calipers are fine I would suspect it’s a wheel hub bearing could also be ball joints or could be a brake shield rubing only at rest in points it hits the back of the rotor
