I have a 1999 Toyota 4runner and I have a problem with a misfire on #1 cylinder. The check engine light came on and had a mechanic scan it and he told me to replace spark plugs, coil (replaced all three w/aftermarket), spark plug wires, and put Sea Foam in my fuel tank for my injectors. Well I did all of that except the wires they looked new(NGK wires) it ran good for a couple of days then it started to misfire again without check engine light coming on. The next day I started it up and let it warm up for about 15 min. it ran good no misfire, went downtown shopping came back to my 4runner started it and misfire again. Any solutions ??????????

You said the misfire went away and came back. Just out of curiosity you should check to make sure all the wires are secure to the distributor cap not jumping off while the engine vibrates. You should also check the distributor cap. Look at the #1 cylinder prong on the cap and see if it has buildup on it where the rotor button strikes. If it does you could try to clean it but I would just buy a new cap they’re usually only like 10-15 bucks for older vehicles. If that isn’t the problem I would go ahead and get new wires. You said they looked new but that doesn’t always mean there is no corrosion on the inside of the insulation.

It is also important to know if when the misfire came back on cylinder #1 or on another.

there isn’t a distributor cap just coil packs.

I think I found it, bad spark plug boot, replaced all and haven’t had any problems
