So about a week ago my brake light switch went out… in turn couldnt get it out of park.. the little GROUND/electrical connector that connects to the brake light switch half way melted and thats what caused thebrake light switch to fry im assuming.. so i replaced the brake light switch… used the same half melted connector and it worked..

You are going to have to source the connector, probably thru the dealer, and replace it. Anything ‘half melted’ is normally bound to fail.

that connector must do more than lights. if you wiggle the connector and the car comes out of park. this connector is
your stating point for diagnostic. you may need a print to see what else this connector does. C8-)

As stated above, you will need to look at a wiring diagram and go from there. If you do have damage to any of the wiring or connectors, they should also be replaced.

Connections are responsible for about 85% of electrical problems so if you have one that’s burned up and you’re having an electrical issue this is the best place to start, replace the connector and recheck for the problem.
