I don’t think it will be to difficult. the hardest part is trying to lay under the dash. before you remove it measure any threads or spacing so it goes
back as close as it came out. heres a video that Eric made solving brake light switch problem.I know you have a different car but might help

It does sound like a brake light switch issue as suggested, here is a video that I did on a Honda that might have some information that might help you with the installation.
