Hey guys I just got my hands on a 1999 international 4700 t444e.
It my cuzs truck and we are going to use it to go to LV Nv and pick up some of his stuff in storage there.

Its a real nice truck but it has a few problems!!!

The first problem is the fuel gage likes to freak out and twitch back and forth between full and empty. It just jumps around.

The other one isnt a problem its more of a im not sure thing.

Yesterday when we went to go get the truck -The damn thing died after five mins of running -We checked the tanks and sure enf it was out of fuel.
Soo we went and got fuel and after some time we did get it started again. But my question is – Is there a fuel cut off switch built on the engine next to the fuel filter

The fuel gauge could be anything from a short in a wire somewhere to a bad sending unit to something in the cluster, you would need a good wiring diagram and some electrical testing equipment to figure that one out. As for the tanks to be honest I’m not sure, I’d have to see it for myself to pass judgment, if you can post some pics.
