      dont know if its electrical or mechanical but im guessing its electrical being that the dome lights are not working either, any suggestion will be appreciated thanks

        Try checking your fuses.

              does the motor make any noise,hum or even try to work or just dead?

                    i have a related problem with the Impala the sunroof works but i think its on the brink of death. I can open it into “Vent” mode just fine (its a spoiler type) but if i press the switch again to open it it will only open about 1/4 its normal size and if i press the switch to open it again it crawls and the motor sounds like its struggling to open it. So now i dont dare open it past vent mode due to the fear itll die while open and unable to close it. Im assuming is the motor but what can i check? where is the damn motor how would i get to it and how much to replace it?
