This is weird. I will try my best to explain everything. When I got in the car coming home from the grocery store the AC was on then all of a sudden, I noticed it started getting warm in the car. I pulled over to see if there was debris in front of the condenser and if the AC clutch was still engaging. (About. two weeks ago the AC clutch was replaced with an aftermarket one since the OEM AC compressor was still working.) Everything seemed fine. Then about halfway home, I noticed the AC light and return light were both off. I turned them on AC started working again. So, I had one more stop to make made it came back to the car turn the car on and then the AC and return light were off again and the AC fan blower in the cabin was not on. I turn the knob back to the off position and turned it back on and everything started working again.

According to the diagram and the service manual the blower motor high relay, which is probably attached to the power transistor/ resistor, could affect everything. It also looks like it would keep the radiator and condenser fans from coming on. So, needless to say I’m a little confused.
I took a photo of what I believe I’m looking for. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The blower switch is tied through the ac as a safety.
No blower no ac. See if you can get the blower to stay
on. That may solve the problem.

So, I started to work on the blower. I turned it on and everything was working. I had the glove box off and I noticed there was something inside the actual blower and it reminded me of Eric’s video when he found debris inside a blower motor. Not sure if that was the problem. However, I can see how if it was lodged up against the sensor, it could send a miss signal. I have attached a photo of the sensor in the debris.

Anything is possible. But for the blower to cut out I’m not sold.
              keep us posted.

So your reply got me a little nervous so I went out and did a ohms test and this is what I came up with.

What, no Jedi mind trick? I’m disappointed! Lol… that was the Oma reading for the blower motor.

“So far” things have been good. If anything changes I’ll post it up here. I also did a compression test. I’ll post those in a new thread.

Honestly I’ve never checked the resistance of a blower motor. I just power them up to see if they work.

Based on your description I’d say it’s electrical and something that effects the HVAC head unit perhaps. If your blower was bad, those lights would remain on and the blower just wouldn’t work. By your description, I’d say the blower was not being told to turn on. To go further, I’d say get your hands on a service manual and see how the circuit is suppose to work. With that information you can prove out the HVAC head unit as the culprit. More info here.
