Recently checking plug wires, pulling the number 1 plug wire and goes into rough idle which I expected. When pulling plug wire number 2 the engine kills and trying to find out why. I have never had this happen before. Any ideas?

i am guessing you are trying to find a missfire? try removing the other wires see if that makes any difference.

Pulled all the spark plug wires and only number 2 kills the engine. Swapped the plug wires around and the plugs ( but in the correct order) still only number 2 kills the engine. Brand new distributor and cap. Compression test good – valves correct timing belt is on time ……

I have the same problem on 2002 Honda Accord. Removing number 2 plug wire kills the engine. But I have rough idle and bucking on acceleration too. Is your car’s idle smooth and there are no other performance problems?

Sounds like it’s missing when it shouldn’t also get go is not as good as it should I cannot find info of why it would kill when it shouldn’t
