How often should a distributor cap and rotor that are factory be replaced (I have already replaced the spark plugs with factory)? Distributor cap rotor wires and plugs were all replaced at 112,000 miles (that’s when I got the crv it had aftermarket parts on it at that time) current mileage is 144,000 miles.

First, never replace the ignition wires if they are Honda, they last just about forever. If you do replace them with something other than Honda, NGK works pretty well. Hondas like OE parts on their ignition systems, use them whenever possible. As for the service interval. The cap and rotor get replaced at 30K intervals, the plugs depend on the type. If they’re iridium NGK, then 100K, if they’re standard plugs, do them at 30K with the cap and rotor.
BTW the Element and CRV share the same chassis.

It’s funny you should post those videos I use them Sunday to change out all the fluid except for the power steering I used my mini vac and it seemed to work really well. I was going to use the iridium NGK, but decided not to after I looked on some forums and people were not very high on him so, I just stuck with the NGK standard that the factory recommended.
I do have a couple of questions on my number two cylinder seem to have some oil residue in there I think it might have been coming from the bushing from before I had the vehicle. When I change the spark plugs I did not pay any attention to that.
Also, here are some photos of the cap and rotor. The rod that the rotor connects to seems to have some corrosion is that something I need to worry about?
