My daughters ’99 civic is throwing a code P1457 which is an EVAP code. I did a search and decided to replace the EVAP solenoid valve on the top of the canister. Easy fix. Two days later the light came back on and you guessed it, P1457! ugh. I am a total DIY’er and can’t afford to spend a lot of money taking this 200k mile car in for a diagnosis. Can you guys give me some advise as to what I should be looking for? I have recently replaced the gas cap and also just did a repair to the gas tank. There was a very very small pin hole in the bottom and I managed to completely drain the tank and I used JB Weld “Water Works” epoxy stick to repair it. Its been over a week and not a drop!
I did notice that the larger diameter hose on top of the EVAP canister is compressed. Could that be my issue? Is that hose bad?
Thanks in advance for any help.
