Hello, I have a 1999 Camry with 228,000 miles, But thats not important.
I have recently (By recent I mean Thursday Nov, 8 2012) replaced my Front Strut assembly. Spring, strut, mount, everything. The car has had on the OEM struts since it rolled off the Factory line In japan.
I got in the car to test them out after I was done, they sounded perfect and rode great.
However the next morning (Cold, about 36F) I noticed backing out of the driveway the made the same noise as before I replaced them. (The common noise, the Popping one *but not as loud*)
I mostly hear it from the driver side of the car.The noise mostly happens when I an driving slow. (Not sure if it makes more noise when I’m turning)
EDIT:My car makes the most noise when it’s still turning the wheel back and forth, it makes a creaking sound on both front struts, it does not really make a noise at speed when hitting bumps.
What has changed before/after install:
Car is now out of alignment. (Car was out of alignment in the past, But that was fixed. Now it’s back about where it was before it was aligned)The only thought that really comes to my head it maybe I over tightened the bolts?
(No, I did not torque them just used and impact and stopped when I saw medal on the pointy part of the nut. )Thanks In advance.
