Greetings,
I was going to replace the rear drum brake cylinders on my friend’s 1999 Buick Century Custom today but couldn’t because of a puzzling problem. My Haynes manual shows the bolts that attach the cylinder as just that, bolts. Every drum brake wheel cylinder I’ve changed was attached by two normal bolts that I used a normal socket or wrench to remove. The fasteners that hold these wheel cylinders on aren’t your average bolts. They look like male torx or star heads, they just look wierd. I have nothing to remove these. I’ve never seen fasteners like these before. Has anyone come across these before and know how to remove them? I’d appreciate any help. Thank you.
