1998 Honda Accord LX reverse gear is slipping. 4 cylinder v-tech engine. The reverse gear is acting up. D2 – D4 are working without issues.
I installed a rebuilt transmission just a few months ago and it was working fine. Now the car will only drive in reverse if I gently let my foot of the brakes. If I have to drive in reverse on an uphill driveway the car struggles even if I push the engine to 3000 rpm.
Any ideas as to what could be wrong / need to check would be much appreciated.

Did you put in a new torque converter?

To be clear, the transmission that’s doing this was rebuilt a few months ago or you had this problem already so you installed a rebuilt one and it kept doing it?

It is the rebuilt transmission. I did not have this issue in the past with the original transmission. I plugged in my OBD II reader, to hopefully pull error codes. Found no codes at all. Thank you for your response.
