I have a 98 Ford Escort 2.0 SOHC with about 180xxx miles on it. I started to notice that I had some fluid on the ground after parking it. When I got under it I found out that it was the metal part of the radiator. Went ahead and got a new one and set about installing it. My car is a 5 speed. this is the first radaitor swap I have done on a non automatic. The radiator I bought has two ports for the trans cooler lines. I told them that I have a 5 speed when I bought it and they told me this one would work. Did I get the wrong one or do I need to fill the two cooler lines hole?
      Any advice would be awesome!

Instead of having 2 part numbers they only have one so it works with a manual or automatic trans. You can plug the holes if you like but it’s not necessary.

The factory mass produces those parts, so rather than produce two different types of rads, they just make the most complicated part and supply you with the necessary parts to retro fit it for your application. Lots of guys have taken lines off wrecked cars, plugged or crimped the ends and used that as a way to seal off the ports. You can buy plugs from the same part store that will do the same thing, but a word of caution, don’t use plastic! technically you could leave the ports open, as, no fluid runs through that area of the rad, therefore you would not experience any leakage form that area either.

Awesome! Thanks! I kinda figured that’s how it would be but I just wanted to make sure before I put everything back together.
            Thanks!

If the ports come with a cap or plug leave them on there.
It will keep them covered but is not necessary.
