      Hello all!! The question of the day well actually 2 questions. #1 does anyone know the torque specs and pattern on the head gasket for a 98 lumina 3.1 motor. also when putting the push rods and valves back in is there a pattern or order i need to follow? do they need to be torqued?

        If a rocker arm isn’t moving you either have a problem with the cam or lifter for that rocker. That said, you can’t just replace one lifter. You need to replace the cam and lifters as a set. They are machined to work together and you can’t install one without the other.

        Given that’s a major task, you might consider replacing the engine as you’ll likely have to pull the engine anyway to perform that repair. Often there are more problems than the ones you can see in a situation like this. A rebuilt long block would come with a warranty and you wouldn’t have to worry about the engine for a good long time if you take care of it. I suppose the real question is what do you want to do with the vehicle and is it worth investing in?
