        If you have the FSM, you should be good to go from there. Just take your time. It shouldnt be too bad of a job.

          I have known those engines to have the occasional oil leak from the cam and crank seals, I would also recommend replacing the tensioners on that one because Toyota tensioners seem to have issues from time to time. I think there is a timing belt kit available with the tensioners, belt, and water pump included. When you do the water pump it can be tricky, remove it as a complete assembly and replace the ‘o’ ring that goes into the back of the assembly but before you assemble the parts put a little silicone paste on the ‘o’ ring to prevent damage to it during the installation.

            Actually, I think those engines’ waterpumps are driven by the drive belt, not the timing belt, so they aren’t under the timing cover. I have a ’93 Prizm with the same engine, and I need to do a timing belt this summer. I was looking into parts, and think I discovered it then.

                Timing Belt Kit and exhaust on order, hopefully the O2 sensors will transfer to the new pipes ok. Thanks again everyone! Love the site and all that you do for us garage guys that need to save a buck!
