I recently bought a 1997 Pontiac Grand Am with 130k miles on it and it was hit on the drivers side. The front fender needs to be replaced and the doors need repair but what concerns me is by the rear wheel well there is a decent sized dent and if some one sits in the back seat every time I hit a bump the tire rubs where the dent is. What is a good way to fix the dent without taking it to a shop. I’m not too sure if I can but I’ll post a picture of what I’m talking about tomorrow.

+1 on smacking it with a hammer, if you’re just trying to get it away from the tire take the wheel off and try to knock it out from the inside.

It’s more or less bent in to the wheel well and not so much a dent so a hammer wouldn’t work. Is there a tool you can use to pry the fender back out.

              Take pictures.
Replace any bolt on bolt off parts with junkyard parts cause it’s not even worth the time fixing them to me.
For pulling quarter dents.., you either can use a welder or a stud welder and weld studs to the dented area and work it out with a slide hammer and regular body hammer, then go over it with body filler, primer, base coat ect..
But depending on the kind of dent you might be able to work some of it out with a suction cup.
I do really need to see some pics though.

Yeah the fender isn’t a whole lot (around $50 online) and the door needs a dent fixed and what looks like it could possibly be enamel a new side skirt (not 100% sure of what the other name is for it) and then the dent on the rear quarter. But pics will be coming soon. I’m only going to post a photo of the quarter panel which is my biggest concern rite now.

You could always drill a hole in the dented area run a screw into it and slide hammer the dent out, you won’t win any prizes for beauty but at least it can get it away from the wheel.
