Yesterday my vehicle was parked on a street that flooded while i was out with friends. Im in houston tx, the street flooded enough for the water to get inside the vehicle. Im not sure if the water level was higher before we got there but when i did get there it wasnt that high except when other vehicles would pass the water would go higher. To avoide more water damage the car was moved because it had been sitting there probably for a couple of hours or so. It went through the water it wasnt that bad to go though. But the issue here now is when i turned the car on today, the rpms were a bit high it stays on 1 and I hear this new noice almost like a whistle. Im not sure if im just being paranoid or if the car received actual damage. I need help on what my next move should be. The picture with the blue vehicle is showing what the water level was when i got there. The other picture is what the car went through

I think at best the exhaust got filled with water along with the o2 sensors.
What I would do is get the car out of the water and start it and let it idle
for 10-15 minutes and then see if it drives. The water needs to be removed.
Hopefully the o2’s were not hurt. see if the car returns to normal or any check
        engine lights come on.

I did move it lastnight, i had to get it though the water. I drove it that same night to get home which wasnt very far only about 5 minutes. It turned on fine and it drives the same. I also drove it this morning to work which is only like 15 minutes. The only problem is that i hear a new sound i didnt notice before and when i turned it on the rpm would go straight to 3 and then stay on one. What are signs to look for if the o2 sensor were affected

I would look real carefully underneath to see if any air lines were pulled off due to driving through the water. High idle and whistling noise sounds like a vacuum leak to me.

If the o2’s are affected you should get a check engine light. Give it a few days of driving
              to see what happens.

Water damage is serious. Most insurance companies would write off the car because some things will get worse. If you have better than basic liability, then you would do well to make a claim. If your going to keep it, then there are some things you need to do TODAY before it gets very bad. Make sure all loose items are removed from the interior and trunk, then completely remove both front seats. Get a powerful shop vac and start sucking out any moisture you can from the carpet. Its even better if you can remove the carpet and padding completely, then finish removing and and all moisture from the bare surfaces. If the seats have any moisture they need it sucked out of them too. Leave windows down, get a powerful fan to leave running inside the car with an extension cord. ANY leftover moisture will make mold and that little car will turn into a GIANT stink factory in a few days. You live in a warm and humid area, so the mold issue will only be amplified. Tons of YouTube videos on removing seats and carpet safely. You will regret not removing all traces of moisture very soon, so do yourself a giant favor and tackle this NOW, or just file a claim like I mentioned above if you can. Also look at videos on how to avoid buying a flood damaged vehicle, it will enlighten you even more.
