Ok so i ran into a VERY SERIOUS problem now, the car was doing its usual not starting issue, i tried to see if i wasn’t getting any spark, so i put in new spark plugs. But i wanted to look under my valve cover and when i did, there is white oil on the inside of the valve cover, the oil on my dip stick is white now, and there was smoke coming from the header/alternator area, and A BUNCH coming out of the tail pipe. It smelled like something was burning. The car puttered on like usual and it ran fine, only thing was my radiator fan is no longer turning on. My battery randomly died on me while doing this and i noticed there is a big green circular connector going straight into the alternator that the previous owner did something to. The spot it clips onto is broken so it just sits in there but now my alternator is making weird noises. My dad thinks i might have cracked my head. But the car ran perfectly fine, to an extent, you can hear the alternator making noises and when you rev it goes back down and up and kind of makes a noise, i don’t know how to describe it. But i think something is seriously wrong now, any ideas?

ALSO, i was told my no starting could be tied into the remote starter that the previous owner had put into the car, there are some wires down under the dash that aren’t connected and the thing is just zip tied down there. Is this a possible cause of my no start??????

Also, when i removed my Valve cover, i left if off for quite a while and i was out in the street, could condensation have just gotten in? But there was still that weird milky oil on the inside of the valve cover when i took it off. Someone please tell me that its just condensation and i don’t have to replace my head gasket because it is blown..

I noticed that the smoke that was coming out of my car is not coming out anymore, there is no smoke at all, just the normal smoke that comes out of the exhaust when its a little cold, could i have just got some oil on it when i took my valve cover off, also when i did, i sprayed some brake cleaner to get the spots i saw that were on the head cover. Could the smoke just be it burning all that off?

SOLUTION: GET A NEW CAR. That thing is falling apart man.

do a block test.Is your coolant going low?
Was the car short driven before you got it?

That doesn’t sound good and it sounds like you might have multiple problems. In the future you can actually test ignition wires instead of replacing them. I have seen issues with some aftermarket wires but the OE last just about forever. In the future you can do a voltage leak test to see if that’s the issue before you buy any parts.

As has been stated I’d do a block test to see if you have a combustion leak. You do describe a lot of things that would indicate an issue with a head gasket or combustion leak in the engine. You can use the info and the test in the video to help you make that determination.
