You may have a leaky injector leaking fuel into the cylinder when the engine is off and after a while it’s no longer flooding that cylinder
Removed injectors, cleaned them up, and also swapped injector 2 with 4 to see if issue would move and throw a different code. Still misfires on cold start sometimes and throws P0302 code(not every time it misfires)
What else could it be?
Just for peoples future reference we ended up sticking a bore-scope camera in the cylinders and discovered liquid in the cylinder after it sat for a while. It was not fuel from a leaky injector as RogueTeddy had suggested but yet found out it was coolant.
Now the car never burnt any coolant while running, and no other sign of head gasket failure, but when it would get shut off there was a fine enough spot in the head gasket for some coolant to leak into the cylinder and then upon starting it would misfire until all of it was out of the cylinder with no other issues again until the next time it sat for a while then started back up.
Anyways, head gasket, timing belt and water pump, etc and the car is still running just fine 4+ years later.
Sorry to revive the dead thread, but I find it more useful than coming across the thread in its previous state and not getting an answer.
