Hello. I hit a large puddle when driving today on my front passenger side and water splashed up on the hood and into the wheel well. Right away the Air Bag light came on and stayed on for two start cycles. Now when I start my blazer the Air Bag light blinks about 7 times and then stays off. Can my ODB2 scanner pull any codes or reset the air bag system? Do I have anything to worry about? Thanks in advance. 1997 Chevy Blazer 4×4 base 2-door with 4.3L.

As the article pointed out, you may need to have the codes pulled to find out what the issue is. Most DIY code readers don’t read SRS codes. Pulling the code would be the first step in finding out what the issue is if you indeed have one.

If the SRS light is on the vehicle should function normally. However, you will not have SRS in the event of a collision.

          Keep us posted.

I’d suggest pulling the front wheel on the side that hit the puddle and checking the condition of the wiring going to the wheel sensor.
