      i have a 1996 mitsubishi 3000 gt with some ac issues…. while driving around air is nice and cool but i feel can be colder…when idling it warms up a little like at a stop light…..on an 85 degree day low side pressure is 40 psi and high side is 160 psi…..what yu guys think? low on refrigerant? i must add that compressor runs constantly

        What RPM did you have the car when you got the readings?

        RPMs should be between 1000-1500 (depending on your manufacturer) so check the manual to ensure you have it set correctly when you read the guages.

        High pressure should be around 2.2 to 2.5 x of the ambient temperature.

        Low pressure should be 60-85 PSI (depending on what your manufacturer says)

          It is normal for the ac to warm some at a stop. here is
          a chart to help you. according to this chart you seem low.
          Try adding 4-6oz see if things improve.
