when i am sitting at a stop light or at a stop sign or when i push the clutch in to shift gears the motor revs automatically up to 2000 rpm without the car moving i checked the hoses i gave it a tune up the air breather is on good i have changed the idle air control valve but i do not have a check engine light on when this happens i do not know what all else to do or check i do not know if the timing chain is doing this or what and if it is the timing chain i am kind of afraid because i have never installed one before but i know it has to be at top dead center and everything timed together but i have never made it that far on a car yet any easy step by step procedures i can do without messing that job up if i have to go that far any answers to this topic please help. 🙁

see if this helps. Also check for vacuum leaks and that your throttle cable is
