      I have a 1995 honda civic del sol SI, 1.6L, d16z6 automatic
      i bought it with the speeometer and gas gauge not working, the takometer, tripmeter and odometer work fine.
      i replaced the VSS and it still doesnt work,
      Ive run out of ideas
      any help would be great

        Could be the needle motors have died.

        The way i test them in my car is to pull the instrument cluster out of the dash and turn it upside down.

        If the needle falls fast its bad if it falls slowly its good.

        Also if the motors are all the same swap it with a known good one and see if it works.

          so i would flip it upside down than start the car? i assume? ill try this in the AM, as its 11pm here, thanks!

            No it should be disconnected from the car your not testing it electrically.

              the gauges didnt move at all, not even tachometer, but the tachometer works when plugged in and car running, just no speedo

                Try replacing the circuit card on the back of the speedo. Civics of that Era were known for faulty solder joints
