This has been happening for about a year now. I will be driving down the road and my RPM gauge bottoms out for about 1 second and then it returns to normal. When this happens, the check engine lights flashes on for that one second and then goes away once the engine returns to normal operations. I am at a complete loss at what could be causing this. I was thinking the Throttle positioning sensor, but I honestly have no clue.
History: I was driving around a neighborhood in second gear once , the RPM’s were a little higher than I run it at, probably 4-5 thousand and it was immediately after that when I noticed this problem started.
This only happens a every few months usually. It hadn’t happened in about 4-5 months and then it happened last night on the highway driving home.
I thought I would throw this out in case anyone had every heard of this or knows what could be causing it.
Thanks,
Gary
