      Hi Guys,

I was, per the procedures, torquing down the VC nuts after installing the new gasket, spiraling out from the middle, gradually working them up to the spec 89 inch pounds. Unfortunately, on two of them (a center nut and a side nut immediately adjacent to it) the stud the nut bolts to broke off, long before I got up to 89 inch-pounds. Now, I have no way of fastening these two nuts. Of course, this means the new VC gasket is going to leak. What can be done to remedy this situation? This has been a good car and I’d like to keep driving it if possible.

      Thx ~ Pop

Thank you, college man, you are right as usual. I have ordered the parts. I should have looked more closely. I thought the studs were welded to the cylinder head, which made me think I was in a real pickle.
