At the moment I have a 1995 Accord wagon that will not start with the key. I have tried replacing the entire ignition cylinder without any luck. I am able to start the car with the key in run and using a wire from the battery to the starting post on the starter solenoid. Once the car is started I noted I do not have either Tach or Spedo, yet I do have other gauges such as temp and gas. There are no codes stored as I just get a solid CEL when I jump the connector under the glove box. I do have what appears to be Trans codes 2 and 5 (could be wrong on those as I havent looked at the car in a week)

Is it a manual or an automatic transmission?

I had forgotten to post here. The transmission is automatic, however the problem turned out to be a failing alternator. while it was enough to make the plugs fire, it was not enough to charge the battery or power the rest of the accessories of the car as it was only putting out 7volts.
