Recently purchased a 1994 Integra LS (OBDI) with only 79K on it. What a find! (I bought my ’99 GSR with 78K on it and it currently has 265K and running strong!) The LS runs great, but the ABS and the SRS lights are on. The ABS, I was able to get the code for and it’s a 4-4, right rear sensor. I took that apart and cleaned it and re-installed it. The ABS light will go off after a few seconds after starting, but once you head down the road, it comes back on. Not sure what else can be done on that. Thoughts?? That’s the minor of my issues.
The SRS light will NOT go off. I’ve tried pulling the SRS DTC’s with the 2 pin service connector by the passenger kick panel, but the SRS light doesn’t even flash. I’ve tried resetting the SRS light with the 2 pin Memory Erase Signal (MES) connector and a paper clip. No dice. I can’t even perform the whole procedure because the SRS light never goes out for me to remove the paper clip, etc. I’ve disconnected the battery and let it sit to reset the ECU. SRS light still comes on.
Since I am second or maybe third owner on this car, I don’t know all of the history. The car does have very minor front right bumper damage. The seller said that someone backed into it in a parking lot. The air bags have not been deployed.
Is there something possibly not connected? Still has the original steering wheel and the horn works. Are there some hard codes on the SRS system that won’t reset? Do I need to get another SRS main unit? How else can I determine why the SRS light is coming on? Any other scan tools out there?
As always, I appreciate the collective brain trust here on ETCG. I’ve already looked through the 193 search results by typing in SRS. Any help you good folks could give me would be amazing.
Update: I noticed when I took off the speed sensor on the right rear that the “gear” or “teeth” that the sensor senses was pretty rusty looking. Would that cause the sensor to not count the teeth correctly? Because at low speeds, the ABS light stays off. Also, if I did get a replacement sensor for the right rear, is the sensor the same for 94-01? Was thinking junk yard.
