Had a new front evaporator core installed in my 1994 Astro. Since that time I am getting fresh water in the carpet BEHIND the passenger front bucket seat. Pulled up the front carpet and nothing is running down the front floor from under the dashboard so this water is apparently coming from the A/C but outside from underneath somewhere which isn’t readily visible either.

Is there a drain hose on the front evaporator and if so how do you access it and how was it supposed to be routed.

Can’t figure what else it may be.

      Thanks

Try checking on the passenger side below the heater hoses.in
        the engine compartment.

Thanks I would assume its in that area if in fact it has a drain hose.
Can’t see anything from the engine compartment and I’m somewhat physically disabled.
At this point I’m afraid it would involve taking off the front passenger wheel and maybe even the fender skirt to gain access. Yo know how tightly everything is packed in minivans.
Was hoping somebody knew exactly where it was located and exactly how it is supposed to be routed before I try anything else.

          Thanks

Found this at Chilton’s I can’t see a tube that I can identify as such but it must be on the bottom.
I think this drawing is a view from inside under the dash. My guess is that it is just to the right and a little bit lower than the number 3 in the drawing. Look under the dash for where it attaches to the evaporator.

This single molded drain tube expels the condensation, which accumulates on the bottom of the evaporator housing, into the engine compartment. If this tube is obstructed, the air conditioning performance can be restricted and condensation buildup can spill over onto the vehicle’s floor.

Thanks but I have a similar if not the same drawing from my DIY

Alldata subscription and it doesn’t show or mention the drain hose and/or its proper routing

Your drawing makes it appear that everything is mounted to the firewall from inside the engine bay under the hood.

That’s correct but no drain hose in sight either in the drawing or my Astro and I think therein lies my problem

both of those drawings are lousy. I would expect it from Chilton’s but not from Alldata.
