So, i have a 1993 Pontiac Grand Prix, 3.1L F1 24 Valve. My engine light is not solid but, when i really get on the gas and push it hard, then come to a stop at a stop sign/light, the engine light comes on. Then i take off, and the engine light shuts off….Most of the time, sometimes it will come on, i’ll go to take off, hit the gas, and it stalls. I have no idea what this is, it’s been the hardest thing to fix so far.

First thing to do is scan for fault codes. Your car has OBD 1 diagnostics so you will need a scan tool that is capable. Once you have fault codes it will be easier to diagnose.

actually wysetech, thats not true. You CAN pull codes on GM/Chrysler OBDI cars without a scan tool.
Use a paper clip or other solid wire to jumper the A/B terminals on the OBD port then turn the key to the “ON” position. the MIL should flash, count these flashes.
For instance a code 23 (and I forget what that one is) the MIL will flash twice, pause, and then flash 3 times.

Okay, so i scanned it using the dash flash method. It was slightly difficult, because the engine light never stayed on long enough. The other day, it was solid for quite some time, so i took advantage and pulled the code. It says that my TPC is out of adjustment.
it would make sense for it too be the crank shaft position CPS sensor, in the other engines like the 3100s and 3800s especially it is known for going out and causing the engine to randomly shut off, I would check the function of it and its condition, and if it can be in fact adjusted like it says it needs I would adjust it, but usually on most of the newer engines it cannot be adjusted, its fixed in place and can only be replaced.
the only way I could think of it needing adjustments is clearance between the sensor itself and the teeth in the ring that produce the signal too the PCM, if the sensor itself is too far away from it it may be sending weak or incorrect signals…
