1993 Honda Accord surging idle

Hey guys. When i start the car in park the car’s idle surges up and down for a short period of time then levels off and idles normal once the car warms up. Any ideas on what could be causing the erratic idle? Thanks, Jim

The first thing to check with those is to make sure its full of coolant, the PCM monitors the coolant temp to step down the idle speed once the engine has reached a certain operating temperature. So low coolant or air in the system means it may not be getting the correct signal and not knowing what to do.
