1993 Honda Accord Power steering pump

Hi all. My power steering pump is leaking and i won’t be able to rebuild or replace it right now. I thought i would remove the power steering belt so i do not burn up the pump. Would the rack and pinion be ok without any fluid being pumped through the system? Thank you in advance, Jim

It will be ok but the steering will be hard as hell to turn.
