I have electrical problem on my car 1993 geo prizm. I am not getting 12volts dc to the distributor. I have checked it with my ohmmeter. I have changed the ecu and no luck so far. i could not find the ground wire going to the ecu. is there a better idea such as splicing the negative wire with another ground wire so i can get the voltage that i need to start the engine? thanks-Ben
the distributor coil/ignitor are all within the distributor block. An electrical diagram will be a plus

First we don’t check voltage using ohms scale. You must use dc voltage scale.
With that said, see if this link helps with a diagram.

Black and orange is the 12V going to the dritributor/coil . If you don’t have 12 volt go check the ign fuse.

The camshaft sensor as well as crank angle are inside the distributor. The igniter is also in the distributor. You probably want to remove the cap and go check with a test light if the igniter does it job. It’s a pretty simple circuit

Perhaps let’s start with the problem that you’re having. It may be best to do that than to support diagnostic practices that may not be getting you anywhere. These articles may be a good start for you.
