My Idler pulley has seized and I need guidance on how to replace it. Can anyone link a video that goes through the process on an acura integra? I have seen ETCG’s acura TL Video but I am looking for specifics for an integra.
Do I need special tools or just a ratchet and sockets, 10 and 12 mm.? Some of the bolts look awkward to get to, is an extension and universal joint socket also needed?
At a minimum it looks like I have to loosen the power steering (PS) pump and remove the belt but do I need to remove the Power Steering pump to get at the idler pulley or can I get at it from the wheel well? Do I have to remove the motor mount as well?
Are the threads on the idler pulley reversed?

When replacing the belts what is the process for adjusting them?

Your help and guidance is greatly appreciated as I assess the job and shorten the time and frustration of not having the right information or right tools.

You’re on the right track. The PS pump will need to be loosened to swing it out of the way. The idler mounts to the A/C bracket, so you’ll have to try to make as much working room as you can. It is cramped in there. Expect to swear at it a lot.

          Thanks for the reply.

I attempted to just remove the PS belt and then remove the pulley but there is not enough space to get a standard socket and ratchet in to remove the bolt. Is there a special tool for this? or…

So i need to remove the two bolts holding on the PS pump and swing it out of the way without disconnecting the lines
Next I remove the bolt (#19 in diagram) holding on the AC idler pulley bracket,
Next remove the pulley from the bracket and replace with a new pulley.
Next reinstall the AC idler pulley bracket, and AC belt and adjust the tension.
Finally replace the PS pump, belt and adjust the belt tension.

To remove the idler pulley the bolt has a star or allen wrench head. Can anyone tell me the right tool and size to use?

I am finally about to start this project to R&R the idler pulley on a 1991 acura integra. Any words of wisdom on tools needed and proper steps to get this done?.
