I was in my 1990 Oldsmobile Ninety Eight in a drive thru this evening when I noticed the temperature to start to creep up and the car began to rev high for a moment then go to low idle and stall. I backed out of the drive thru and parked it and it did this once again, but then after I started it, it idled fairly well and drove perfectly. I want your guys’ input but I feel like it’s the fuel filter for the following reason:
Coincidentally earlier in the day I ran the car somewhat low on gas (~3-4 gallons in tank) before getting gas. I feel like I could have ran it low and some of the 25 years worth of sediment could have caused the fuel filter to clog. However, after this incident the car ran good under heavy acceleration which makes me think this might not be the problem.
I wanted to share this with you guys and get your input…please let me know what you guys think!
Thanks in advance
