so i replaced my wheel bearings and move my car out side it was running just fine. the next morning car wont start and sounds like no compression. i test all cylinders and found 0 lbs all cylinders. so im thinking timing belt. i pull it all apart and check timing. after triple checking all timing marks and making sure valves are not sticking i determined everything is as it should be. so why no compression im not an idiot when it comes to cars but this problemhas me thinking otherwise thanks

        Welcome to the forums.

How are you checking for compression? Make sure you are checking compression at WOT.

I would try starting the vehicle in the clear flood mode as you may have flooded the cylinders with fuel.

i have pulled the fuse to the fuel pump and am using a compression tester. i have worked on a car before that was flooded and had lower compression from washing the cylinders but not 0 lbs

I wouldn’t think you would have 0 compression on all cylinders, because at least two of them should be closed (the valves). Are you sure you compression tester is good?

i thought the same thing so i tested the compression on my snowmobile that was in the shop and it worked just fine. lets say the timing was off would it cause this problem. it seems so strange. i checked it several times and according to the manual its nuts on

^Can you crank the engine manually?

Did the engine suddenly die while you were ‘gunning’ it? If so, the timing belt may have snapped and bent multiple valves. I would definitely take a look at the timing belt next.

the car was parked overnight and then would not start the next morning. i cheked the timing and it is perfect. i can roll the engine easily by hand and i checked valves and they all open and close as they should

Ok, so it doesn’t sound like you are experience compression issues. Even if the car was flooded, you should see something on the gage. I wouls start with some of these videos next.

This is a very common issue with Honda’s and is what we call ‘short tripping’ meaning if you just move the car a short distance when you go to restart it later it’s flooded.

When you removed the plugs were they wet with fuel? If so dry them off and let the cylinders air out for as long as possible, then when starting the engine hold your foot to the floor on the gas to put it into ‘clear flood’ mode which will turn the injectors off while you crank the engine, it may take some time but it should begin to catch and eventually start. Try not to work the starter too hard as you could damage it from running it too much so be sure to give it time to cool if you end up running it for some time.

thank you all for your info. however the engine is not flooded the spark plugs were dry. everthing looks good the timing is correct all valves are opening and closing all the way. it just has no compression and by no i mean 0 not even 1 psi
