I bought this car about a year ago originally as a parts car. The guy had gotten it from a Police auction in socal a few years ago and it had 226k on it. He wanted a grand, talked him down to 750. I liked the way it drove so much though i altered my plans and made this the project. I gutted the cop interior out of it put in carpets, plush power seats and did a dash swap for one that wasnt so mangled with equipment holes. Then winter came and it sat under a tarp for 6 months. This past spring I sanded it down, primered and painted it. I used just a single stage implement paint, entire job cost me maybe $200. The color is International Harvester Blue mixed with flat black. darkened the color and dulled the gloss. I dechromed the car using plasti-dip to make sure i liked the way it looked, then duplicolor black chrome kits. The steering was excessively loose, so i replaced the tie rod ends, the pitman arm and all the front end steering controls. it was still lose, so i replaced the steering box from the donor car i had. The wheels i got center caps from a late 80’s chevy van off ebay, reconditioned them and ad added blacked out beauty rings to compliment the blue wheels. I also replaced the speedometer cable, the fuel gauge the fuel pump and sending unit and swapped the tank for one where the baffles were intact. Oil change, trans flush with some lucas, and reconditioning the police lights so they werent painted black anymore. Now its winter again so its parked.

Next year i plan on doing some stuff with the engine until i can get my hands on a LS engine, and might boost the braking power with drilled and slotted. It still needs a headliner and dual exhaust. but that will require making a cross member for a dual exhaust set up.
