      hello im trying to help a friend . if you guys can please help it would be great . . I belive its a 1989 xj Jeep with a 4.0 liter . It’s running very ruf with a hard to start . He also states that it’s not all the time but happens a lot .

          Your not giving much information..
          Basics to try..
          Check for vacuum leaks.
          Check for proper fuel pressure
          Check for proper spark
          Check MAF / clean
          Check throttle body / clean
          Check PVC
          Check spark plugs / wires / coil pack
          Check flow of fuel injectors
          Check air filter, fuel filter
