Check for power at the brake switch. Use a jumper wire to bridge the switch the see if

thanks for the tip . I checked the switch on the break peddle and there where 3 wires going into it one was hot all the time the other 2 became hot after you pressed down on the peddle. one went to the break light on the rear deck the other went over the sterring colum and into a connector where it was dislodged i took the connector apart and put it back where it be longed now i have break lights thanks again for leading me in the right direction.
