Hello all! I have a 1986 Ford F-150. Inline Six XLT Lariat. Striaghtpiped (No catalytic converters)
For a while i have been noticing a strange noise from my exhaust. It’s like a “put put put” Every few seconds or so. Is this a misfire?
Just changed my plugs recently, but one had oil on them (Not alot) Pointing to an old valve cover gasket..
Until today my exhaust manifolds had been glowing, suggesting retarded ignition timing. I finally timed it by ear today (I know, not completely proper please dont scold me ) And the glowing went away! Thankfully, but im wondering about this putting noise now.
The exhaust is straightpiped and glasspacked. There are no emissions laws in MT.
