1979 Lincoln fuel filter location???

I just bought a 79 Continental and it stalls out sometimes so I’m thinking trying to replace the fuel filter and see if that helps before anything else. Only problem is I cannot find it haha. It’s not inline and I’ve check around the carb and cannot locate where the hell it is. I have a service manual for the car and it just says to take off the air filter and pop off the fuel filter? If anyone has any info on this it would help a bunch. It has the 400ci Cleveland with a 2 barrel carb by the way, thanks
